Town are showing interest in Académica right-back Christopher Oualembo, according to a report in the Portuguese press.
French-born Oualembo who has been capped nine times by the Democratic Republic of Congo, is out of contract at the end of the season and could move on in January with a number of Championship clubs including the Blues interested, according to Record.
The 28-year-old was a youth player with Paris St-Germain and represented their B team before joining US Quevilly in 2006.
The 5ft 10 in tall full-back subsequently played for Spanish club Levante’s B team, Italian side Monza, in Bulgaria with Chernomorets Burgas and in Poland for Lechia before joining Académica in Portugal in the summer of 2014.
