Norwegian Club Targeting Parr - Ipswich Town News

TWTD understands that Norwegian side Strømsgodset have spoken to the Blues regarding a move for full-back Jonny Parr.

Strømsgodset’s interest in the 27-year-old, who was on the bench for Town at Burnley today, first emerged in Norway towards the end of the week and we understand that talks have taken place between the clubs with a view to Parr moving on - perhaps on loan - before the Norwegian season starts in March.

In addition to Strømsgodset, who finished second in the Norwegian top flight during the 2015 season, other clubs in Norway and elsewhere in Europe are also showing interest in the Oslo-born defender or midfielder, who may well favour a move in order to play first team football having started only three times for Town in the Championship this season.

Even if the clubs do conclude a deal, the Blues are highly unlikely to allow the move to take place until they have cover at full-back lined up.

Parr, whose Town contract is up in the summer, joined the Blues following his release by Crystal Palace in the summer of 2014 and has made 29 starts and 14 sub appearances, scoring three goals.
