Jim Magilton won his fortieth cap for Northern Ireland in the 3-1 win in Luxembourg. The Town midfielder even came close to scoring with a shot which hit the bar. The Ulstermen's goals came from Manchester United youngster David Healy who scored twice on his debut and West Brom's James Quinn. Meanwhile Matt Holland was on the bench for Ireland, whilst Richard Wright once again sat out for England.
