Legends Crawford and Osborne on Life's a Pitch

Blues legends Ray Crawford and Roger Osborne will be the star guests on Saturday’s Life’s a Pitch, which comes live from Portman Road ahead of the FA Cup tie against Portsmouth (BBC Radio Suffolk, midday to 2pm). Host Mark Murphy is joined by legend-in-residence Kevin Beattie, Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham.

Town’s record goalscorer - 227 goals in 353 games - Crawford, 79, started his career with hometown club Pompey before moving onto the Blues and helping Sir Alf Ramsey’s team to the Second and First Division titles in successive seasons.

The Blues’ first England international returned to Town for a second spell and won the 1967/68 Second Division title with Bill McGarry and went on to be an FA Cup legend with Colchester when he scored twice in their 3—2 victory against Leeds United in 1971. He is now living back in Portsmouth and is a regular at Fratton Park.

Osborne, Town’s FA Cup final winning goalscorer, will be talking about that famous afternoon at Wembley in May 1978.

Also joining the regulars will be Colin Farmery, part of the Pompey Supporters' Trust who saved their club from oblivion, who is now a media consultant to the club and who also runs the Pompey-Fans.com website.
