Town boss Mick McCarthy has no new injury problems ahead of Saturday’s home game against Preston North End, although new signing Kevin Foley’s international clearance is yet to come through.
"Everybody’s fine, they all came through, there are a few bumps and bruises from Tuesday night, as we’d all expect from a tough game, as it was, but one we dominated, I thought, and deserved to win,” McCarthy said.
Full-back Foley, 31, has signed a contract to the end of the season as a replacement for Jonny Parr, who has joined Strømsgodset, but the Blues are waiting on the completion of the paperwork before he is able to play.
"He’s signed up but he’s not registered yet because we have to get international clearance, his last club was FC Copenhagen,” the Town boss added.
"We may have him registered for [the FA Cup replay at Portsmouth on] Tuesday but it’s irrelevant because unless you’re here for the first game you can’t play in the replay. He’s ineligible for Tuesday whatever happens.
"I think he’ll be all right for Birmingham. He’s like anybody, he’ll need games to get to that level of fitness to be battle-hardened that you get through playing games.
"But he’s trained really well, he looked great in the U21s and we’ve a game on Monday [against Colchester at Playford Road at 1pm] and he’ll probably play in that if I need him to get another game, he’ll be better for that game.”
The Blues are still without David McGoldrick and Teddy Bishop, who remain out with hamstring injuries.
The Town boss says he’s had no thoughts about sending fringe players such as Giles Coke, Piotr Malarczyk or Jay Tabb out on loan with the former Sheffield Wednesday midfielder only just back in training after a niggle, along with Larsen Touré, who has been out with a groin injury.
"Giles only trained yesterday and trained really well, as well as Larsen,” he added. "Tabby’s no interest in going out on loan, he wants to stay here and fight for his place
"I get that. He’s not unhappy, not desperate to leave, so it must be a good place if that’s the case if you’re not playing.
"He’s been brilliant, Tabby. He’s part of the reason we are where we are because he helped stabilise us.
"I remember his debut at Peterborough and he came in and he’d not been playing and he was great and he’s just been a really outstanding pro. No, none of them going anywhere at the moment.”
