Two Clean Sheets in a Row for Crowe - Ipswich Town News

On-loan Blues keeper Michael Crowe kept a second successive clean sheet as Braintree Town beat Chester 2-0 in the Vanarama National League this afternoon.

Crowe, 20, helped the Iron to a 1-0 home victory over Wrexham in midweek and has now made four appearances since joining the Essex side on a month’s loan.

With Dean Gerken out injured for at least a month with a shoulder problem, the Blues could recall the London-born, Norway-raised Wales U21s call-up when that option becomes available to them after 28 days of his loan on February 7th.

Striker James Alabi, who joined Chester yesterday having left the Blues on Thursday, made his debut against his former team-mate’s loan side and played the first 74 minutes.

Elsewhere, centre-half Matt Clarke played the full 90 minutes for his loan side Portsmouth as Pompey were defeated 2-1 by AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup at Fratton Park, ex-Blue Gary Roberts having put the League Two side in front.

Central defender Josh Yorwerth also played the full game for Crawley as his loan side lost 1-0 at home to Mansfield Town in League Two.

Winger Cameron Stewart’s Doncaster Rovers weren’t in League One action today.

Gutted to lose today, great experience playing against Premiership opposition⚽️ Fans were class as always🙌👏
