McCarthy Irked By Lack of Media Coverage - Ipswich Town News
Boss Mick McCarthy believes the Blues aren’t getting the national media coverage they deserve given that they’ve spent most of the season in and around the play-off zone. Tuesday’s 2-1 home victory over Reading saw Town return to sixth.
"The national paper I had, and I’m not going to name it, didn’t have a word on our win against Reading, not a word,” McCarthy told Ipswich Player HD.
"We are in the play-off places but not word on us at all. Am I bitter and twisted about that? Too right I am! It does irk me.
"We played Brighton here and we were top and they were second and there wasn’t a camera in sight in our press conference before the game. That really irked me. I thought, is that the interest in the Championship then?"
