Morphew to Return for Trial at the End of the Month - Ipswich Town News

Needham Market's Keiran Morphew is expected to return to Town for his trial at the end of the month, a groin injury having prevented the versatile 22-year-old from linking up with the Blues last week.

Morphew impressed boss Mick McCarthy while playing at centre-half for Town’s U21s in the 1-0 victory over QPR a fortnight ago and was invited to return the following Monday to spend a week training with the Blues first team.

However, two days before the trial was due to start the defender or midfielder suffered a groin injury while in action with Needham in a Ryman League Premier Division fixture at Lewes.

Since then Morphew, who previously had a spell on trial with the Blues back in 2013, has been undergoing his rehab at Playford Road with the Town physios as well as with Needham and he is set for a return to action when the Marketmen take on Kingstonian at home in 10 days’ time.

If he comes through that game OK he is likely to spend the following week with the Blues.
