Legend Butcher and MD Milne at Supporters Weekend - Ipswich Town News

The seventh annual Supporters Weekend gets under way this evening with a football tournament, while legendary Blues and England skipper Terry Butcher and managing director Ian Milne will take part in a question and answer session at the Dove Street Inn during Saturday lunchtime.

The tournament is being played at Goals in Ipswich from 8pm - 10pm with all players asked to be there by 7.30pm. Spectators are welcome. Once again there will be local and international teams competing with our Italian Branch desperate to carry off the silverware.

On Saturday, Radio Suffolk’s Life's a Pitch will come live from the Dove Street Inn, St Helens Street from midday until 2pm.

Host Mark Murphy will be joined by legend-in-residence Kevin Beattie, Tractorboy and TWTD’s Phil Ham, while Butcher and Milne will take part in a question and answer session with fans in the green room during the first hour and will also appear on the show. The show can be heard online here.

As well as his time as a player and manager, Butcher will be talking about this summer’s Amsterdam Cycle Challenge, in which he will be taking part.

The event raises money for the Town academy and the Football League’s official charity partner Prostate Cancer UK. Saturday’s home match against Nottingham Forest is this season’s designated Prostate Cancer awareness game.

After the match, Legends will have an extension to 6.30pm, with live music provided by local band Talk of the Town.
