No Deals Expected on Final Emergency Loan Deadline Day - Ipswich Town News

Football League clubs have until 5pm today to sign players on an emergency loan basis but Town are not expected to add to their squad.

The Blues have brought in Ben Pringle on loan from Fulham - whose spell has been extended into a third month - and Liam Feeney from Bolton since the January transfer window closed.

Manager Mick McCarthy has said he’s keen to get some of his younger players out on loan so it is possible that there could be an exit, although nothing is currently understood to be on the cards.

From next season FIFA have forced the Football League to scrap the emergency loan system, which has allowed clubs to sign players on short-term loans of up to 93 days outside transfer windows, as it "affects the sporting integrity of the competitions”, much to Town manager Mick McCarthy’s frustration.

The Football League brought in the emergency loan system following the introduction of transfer windows in 2002/03.
