Bru Helps Mauritius to Victory - Ipswich Town News
Blues midfielder Kevin Bru created the winning goal as Mauritius beat Rwanda 1-0 at the Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue to climb to second in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifying group.
Bru, who started and won his sixth full cap, sent over the corner from which Francis Rasolofonirina netted the game’s only goal just before the hour mark.
Following the game, the Mauritius squad went straight to the airport to fly to Rwanda ahead of Tuesday’s qualifier in Kigali.
The Mauritians, who beat Mozambique in an earlier qualifier, are now three points behind group leaders Ghana.
The group winners and the two best runners-up go through to the finals in Gabon on January and February next year.
