Brown Returns - Ipswich Town News

Town have recalled Wayne Brown from the second month of his highly successful loan spell at Watford. Hornets' manager Gianluca Vialli has said he wants to buy the 24-year-old defender, but George Burley insists that he was never for sale.

The Town boss said: "Wayne will be back with us tomorrow but he has a hamstring injury and it's hard to say when he will be fit until we have had a look at him."

He refuted claims from Vialli that discussions had started regarding a permanent move for the central defender: "He never made an offer and in any case we said all along he wasn't for sale."

With Chris Makin out injured Burley clearly feels that another defender is required in his squad. In addition to Makin, Titus Bramble has struggled for form this season while Thomas Gaardsøe has had a number of injuries lately.
