Town Host Young Finns - Ipswich Town News

Town are hosting an international residential soccer camp for of 21 Under-14 footballers from Finland. A chance call from the Finnish FA have led to them coming over to use Town's facilities.

Town's Community Project Manager David Brooks, recently off visiting Norwegian club Odd Grenland, explains: "I took a call out-of-the-blue from the Finnish FA explaining that they had heard about our training and community facilities here in Ipswich and asking if we had ever thought of hosting residential training camps.

"It was strange really, because it was something we'd been looking at for some time, so the timing was just right."

The young players are staying at St Joseph's College will experience nine days of development training with FA Qualified coaches and will play Woodbridge Town's youth team and representatives of the Ipswich Town Community Coaching Centres.

The Finns will also get to see Town's first team in action at West Ham and in training.
