No Deadline Day Moves - Ipswich Town News

George Burley has confirmed that other than yesterday's loan of Gary Croft to Cardiff, today's transfer deadline will see no other moves involving Town.

One move that might have been expected was a possible free transfer of Fabian Wilnis, but the Dutchman is now set to play a crucial role in at least the next three games with Chris Makin out for two weeks.

The Town boss says that the quiet deadline day doesn't just affect the Blues but is widespread in the game at present: "There is no doubt that the past year, not just this week, has been very quiet on the transfer front. There just isn't the money in the Nationwide League for clubs to spend and most of the big-money moves are now involving players from abroad.

"With that and the uncertainty over television money, there is nowhere near the same money in the game for clubs in the Nationwide."
