Gus the Only Mover - Ipswich Town News

Aside from Gary Croft's move to Cardiff City yesterday, Gus Uhlenbeek was the only other player with a connection to Town changing clubs as deadline day passed quietly.

The pacy, but inaccurate Dutchman has left Sheffield United to join Walsall on loan until the end of the season.

Saddlers' manager Colin Lee seems pleased to have signed him: "He is a player who I have been looking at for a while, and I am confident that he will come in and do a very good job for us between now and the end of the season.

"I know from his days at Fulham that he is a very quick player who likes to get forward and he knows what is required at this level."

Uhlenbeek left Town on a Bosman in the summer of 1998 after joining the Blues for £100,000 from Top OSS in 1995. He made 113 appearances and scored four goals in his time at Portman Road.
