McGreal Defintely Out - Ipswich Town News

Town centre-half John McGreal has been confirmed as missing from tomorrow's squad for the game with Portsmouth. Hot favourite for his position is Manu Thetis after he came through the reserve game on Wednesday with no ill effects despite a game marking Kevin 'Too Tall' Francis. If he isn't considered match fit enough Matt Holland could find himself at centre-half with Jermaine Wright coming into the midfield. The other contenders are Fabian Wilnis, who recently played a reserve game in the centre, and Gary Croft who has recovered quickly from his gash. Croft, however, is likely to return to his right wing back role with Michael Clegg dropping to the bench. Full squad: R Wright, Salmon, Clegg, Clapham, Wilnis, Stockwell, Croft, Mowbray, Brown, Thetis, Holland, Magilton, J Wright, Scowcroft, Johnson, Stewart, Naylor, Axeldal and Midgley.

James Scowcroft has been named amongst the nominees for the Sky Nationwide Player of the Month. He won the award for December.

Adam Tanner says he is not rushing into any move away from Town. Tanner, who avoided prison narrowly on Monday had been linked with a quick move to Layer Road, but is now keen to take his time and see what offers come in. A move well away from the Suffolk/Essex area may well be on the cards for Tanner. Adam's career had rather stalled at Town, even before his recent troubles, and a complete change of scene is probably the best thing for his career.

Adam Miller has been picked to train with Northern Ireland's U18 squad (that's eighteen not eighty-one as I put in the Richard Logan bit yesterday; thanks for all the emails by the way) at Lilleshall on March 15th. The player, who has already won some youth honours, will lokk to be included in sides meeting Norway and Portugal in the European Championship.
