Trio Could Win Caps as England U17s Face Holders France at Euros - Ipswich Town News

Town trio Andre Dozzell, Ben Morris and Nick Hayes could win caps this evening when the England U17s face holders France in their second game at the European Championships in Azerbaijan (Eurosport One, 4.45pm).

The England youngsters suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening match on Friday, in which midfielder Dozzell won his 13th U17s cap as he played the full 80 minutes and striker Morris came on as a second-half sub to pick up his seventh.

Keeper Hayes, who has previously won three caps, flew out to Azerbaijan having been called up over the weekend after Millwall’s Ryan Sandford suffered a fractured finger. Blues schoolboy midfielder Tristan Nydam was also named on standby.

England are currently bottom of their group with the French having drawn 0-0 with Denmark - who England face in their final group game on Thursday - in their opening match.
