Town Duo Start for England U17s - Ipswich Town News
Town duo Andre Dozzell and Ben Morris both start for the England U17s in this evening’s European Championships game against holders France in Baku, Azerbaijan (KO 5pm). Blues keeper Nick Hayes is on the bench.
The game is being shown live on Eurosport One from 4.45pm with Town legend Russell Osman the co-commentator.
The England youngsters suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to Sweden in their opening match on Friday, in which midfielder Dozzell won his 13th U17s cap as he played the full 80 minutes and striker Morris came on as a second-half sub to pick up his seventh.
Keeper Hayes, who has previously won three caps, flew out to Azerbaijan having been called up over the weekend after Millwall’s Ryan Sandford suffered a fractured finger. Blues schoolboy midfielder Tristan Nydam was also named on standby.
England are currently bottom of their group with the French having drawn 0-0 with Denmark - who England face in their final group game on Thursday - in their opening match.
England U17s: Thompson, Sterling, Feeney, Chalobah (c), Sessegnon, McGuane, Adeniran, Nelson, Mount, Dozzell, Morris. Subs: Hayes, Brown, Hirst, Francis, T Bola, Shashoua, Bohui.
