Town midfielder Kundai Benyu has been included in the Tottenham U19s squad for the NextGen Series taking place in Amsterdam from today until Monday.
Benyu recently completed his two-year scholarship with the Blues academy but in February last year signed a two-year professional contract which runs until the summer of 2017.
The 18-year-old is yet to make a senior debut but was on the first-team bench twice in the Championship during 2014/15 and for the Capital One Cup games against Stevenage and Doncaster during 2015/16. He spent much of the season out of action with a knee injury before returning in the final weeks.
While his inclusion has inevitably led to speculation that Spurs are looking at signing him, the Blues have lent Tottenham players for end-of-season games in the past with academy director Bryan Klug close to the Premier League club’s youth set-up having worked there prior to his return to Playford Road in 2012.
In the summer of 2013 Andre Dozzell, Chris Smith and Sam Ford, who moved to West Ham earlier this year, all played for Tottenham in an U16s game as they were short of players.
Town boss Mick McCarthy has previously said Benyu is in his thoughts as one of the youngsters who could be involved in the Blues first team next season.
Spurs face PSV Eindhoven, South African side Ajax Cape Town and the Right to Dream academy from Ghana in their group matches.
Elsewhere, Bolton have confirmed the release of winger Liam Feeney, who spent the final months of the season on loan at Town.
Speaking last week, Blues boss McCarthy revealed that Town are in talks with the 29-year-old about a permanent deal.
