Ex-Town central defender Josh Yorwerth has rejoined his former loan club Crawley Town on a permanent basis, signing a one-year deal with an option for a further season. The 21-year-old’s Blues contract was recently terminated by mutual consent.
Yorwerth signed a two-year deal with Town last summer following a trial after leaving Cardiff and spent most of 2015/16 on loan in League Two with Crawley, where he made 24 starts and one sub appearance without scoring.
The Wales U21 international made three Capital One Cup starts for the Blues and scored on his debut against Stevenage last August.
New Crawley head coach Dermot Drummy is pleased to have added Yorwerth to his squad on a permanent basis.
"Josh is still relatively inexperienced in league terms but we definitely feel he is a player capable of improving a lot,” he told the Red Devils official site.
"He has got a lot of the attributes good defenders need and he's a winner. He also knows the club and quite a few of the lads who will be here next season which is important, so we’re delighted he’s on board.”

Yorwerth added: "I really enjoyed last season with the club. I played a lot of games and gained valuable experience.
"It was obviously disappointing to be released by Ipswich but when the new gaffer said he wanted to sign me I was happy to come back to Crawley.
"I’m really excited about next season. He has got some great plans on how he wants us to play and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
