Blackburn Targeting Feeney Claim - Ipswich Town News

Blackburn Rovers are reportedly rivalling Town for the signature of former Blues loanee Liam Feeney.

According to The Sun, new Rovers manager Owen Coyle is keen to sign the 29-year-old, who previously had a loan spell at Ewood Park during 2014, and is hoping to agree a deal this week.

Feeney is understood to have already agreed terms with Town and - as things stood - was expected to formally sign once he becomes a free agent after his contract with his current club Bolton is up at the end of the month.

The Londoner, who is believed to be keen on a move back down south, joined Town on loan in March and made seven starts and two sub appearances, scoring once.

Birmingham City were previously reported to be amongst a number of Championship clubs interested in the former Millwall winger.

Meanwhile, another player the Blues have shown interest in this summer, Southend midfielder Jack Payne, is expected to sign for Huddersfield Town.
