Digby Delighted to Rejoin Blues - Ipswich Town News

Defender Paul Digby says he’s delighted to have joined the Blues on a permanent basis following his loan from Barnsley at the end of last season. The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with an option for a further season.

"I’m really excited because I had a great time here before,” he told Ipswich Player HD.

"In finishing seventh we were a bit disappointed more than anything. I think a lot of teams would have been happy being that high up the table but we weren’t really satisfied with it.

"I think we can push on this season so I’m really looking forward to the challenge that lies ahead.

"I was always going to come back and there was never any doubts about that, so it was just about having my holidays and coming back to sign.”

The former England U19 and U20 international says he’s looking forward to Town’s opening game of 2016/17, coincidentally against the Tykes: "You couldn’t make it up, and it’s a great fixture for me.

"It’s going to be a hard pre-season but I’m going to have my eye on that so it will help me get through it, it’s a great incentive.

"I’ve had a great 10 years there, I’ve learnt my trade there so I’m really grateful to all the coaches there and all the great people I’ve met there so I wish them all the best for this season.”
