Town are being linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers winger Elliott Bennett.
According to The Sun, the Blues are interested in the 27-year-old having missed out on the signing of former loanee Liam Feeney, who joined Blackburn earlier this summer.
Telford-born Bennett started his career at Wolves during Mick McCarthy’s time as manager at Molineux. Having made only two League Cup starts and after spending time on loan at Crewe Alexandra and Bury, Bennett moved on to Brighton in the summer of 2009.
In his second season with the Seagulls, 2010/11, the 5ft 9in tall wideman helped them to the League One title and was named in the PFA Team of the Year.
His performances for Albion led to a move to then-Premier League Norwich City that summer, where he made 43 starts and 36 sub appearances, scoring three goals, and also spent time on loan back at Brighton and at Bristol City.
In January, his former Norwich boss Paul Lambert — who left Blackburn at the end of last season - took him to Ewood Park, where he signed a contract which runs until 2018.
Bennett qualifies to play international football for Jamaica via his paternal grandparents and in 2015 he was called up for the first time but is yet to win a cap.
