Dozzell Starts at Colchester - Ipswich Town News

Andre Dozzell starts for Ipswich Town in tonight’s friendly at Colchester United — with the returning Daryl Murphy and new signing Adam Webster among the subs.

The 17-year-old, who burst onto the first-team scene at the end of last season, is expected to start on the right hand side of midfield with Cameron Stewart again given a chance to impress on the opposite flank.

Myles Kenlock, back from his ankle injury, and Paul Digby will both have a chance to shine in the back four while Brett Pitman and Freddie Sears will start up front, with David McGoldrick once again a notable, and worrying, absentee from the 27-man squad, the striker having suffered a hip flexor problem during the training camp in Ireland.

Ipswich are again expected to make wholesale changes at half-time with Christophe Berra, Teddy Bishop, Luke Hyam and Cole Skuse all on the bench.

League Two Colchester have named five of their six new signings in their starting line-up, along with former Ipswich midfielder Owen Garvan.

Town: Gerken; Chambers, Digby, Smith, Kenlock; Dozzell, Bru, Douglas, Stewart; Sears, Pitman. Subs: Emmanuel, Bialkowski, Webster, Berra, Knudsen, Bishop, Hyam, Skuse, McDonnell, Murphy, McLoughlin, Blanchfield, Robinson, Patterson, Malarczyk, Morris.
