Hreidarsson Wants Out! - Ipswich Town News
Hermann Hreidarsson is to ask if he can miss Iceland's friendly international with Senegal in Dakar on April 17th. The defender would face air trips to Reykjavik, then Dakar and then home again just days before Town's trip to Arsenal.
Hreidarsson says he wants to put his club before his country as the Blues enter a crucial end of season period: "I intend to speak to the Iceland manager (Atli Edvaldsson) to ask if I can be excused because we have three games in a week after the trip to Senegal.
"They are all important matches and while it is always good to play for my country you have to try and do the right thing.
"He is an understanding manager so I will give him a call and hope he will agree to let me stay here this one time."
Hreidarsson, along with all the other UK-based Iceland players, missed the recent friendly against Brazil.
