Town Lose Galway Cup Final But Knight Wins Player of Tournament - Ipswich Town News
The Blues’ U15s were beaten 3-0 by Dublin side Cherry Orchard in the final of the Galway Cup this afternoon but Town’s Ben Knight was named the Player of the Tournament.
The young Blues, whose trip has been sponsored by Source One Ltd, Office Angels and David Moat, beat a Republic of Ireland side 2-0 in their opening game, then Leeds United 1-0 before losing by the same scoreline to fellow finalists Cherry Orchard in Friday’s last group game.
Knight isn’t the first Town player to win the Galway Cup Player of the Tournament award, Josh Carson having picked up the gong in 2008.
