Jermaine Bite? - Ipswich Town News

Town have announced that they have made an offer of £500,000 for Crewe midfielder Jermaine Wright. George Burley and David Sheepshanks met with the 24 year old former Wolves player prior to last night's game with St Albans. Wright will be having talks with Nottingham Forest today before deciding which of the two clubs he will join.

Town won last night's friendly at St Albans 3-0 with goals from Sean Friars (16), Richard Naylor (46) and Stuart Niven (67). Magilton, Holland and Bramble were all absentees through injury. Holland has the ankle problem acquired at the end of last season that is yet to heal, Bramble also has an ankle problem and Magilton has a thigh injury. Marco Holster also picked up an injury during the game. A more detailed report is expected later. Full team:

Wright (sub: Salmon 46 minutes)

Wilnis

Clapham

Tanner (sub: Niven 46 minutes)

Thetis (sub: Mowbray 58 minutes)

Venus (sub: Borwn 67 minutes)

Stockwell

Scowcroft (sub: Midgley 59 minutes)

Naylor (sub: Inglis 75 minutes)

Friars (sub: Holster 58 minutes) Friars returned for the injured Holster after 82 minutes.

Season ticket purchasers should get their tickets by the end of the week according to the Ticket Office. Apparently 850 people have taken up the name on the seat scheme. Many are using it as an opportunity for cheap advertising. Hmmm, now there's an idea...

The home side had been the better side in the first half, albeit with the visitors having two of the period’s three best chances, but the Blues fell apart in the second after Sonny Carey had given the Addicks the lead on 52 with Macaulay Gillesphey and Miles Leaburn adding goals on 55 and 64 to inflict the Town’s first Portman Road defeat of the season and their biggest Championship loss on their own turf since the 4-0 loss to Aston Villa more than seven years ago.
