Reserves Win - Ipswich Town News

Town reserves beat Barnet reserves 2-1 yesterday at Underhill to go into the final of the Avon Insurance League Cup. Town's goals came from Jonas Axeldal who is continuing his reserve scoring streak. There were quite a number of first team players in the Town side and despite a poor first half Town were deserved winners. Team: Branagan, Stockwell, Croft, J Miller, Tanner (Inglis), Venus, Maurel, Holster, Naylor (A Miller), Axeldal and Friars.

Sad news yesterday as it emereged that Town Mr Fact Ron Ellis had died. Ellis was a familiar face at Portman Road and will be remembered by legions of Town fans for his encyclopaedic knowledge of ITFC. He was 79 and had been ill for some while.

Town could have both James Scowcroft and John McGreal back for the game at Wolves on Saturday. McGreal has missed the last two games whilst Scowcroft missed Tuesday's draw with Blackburn. Scowcroft was sorely missed by Town, although after an impresssive performance from Manu Thetis against Blackburn, McGreal may not be rushed back.
