Dyer Charges Dropped - Ipswich Town News
Former Town star Kieron Dyer will face no penalty for the incident where an uninsured friend of his was stopped by police driving his car. Dyer had been charged with causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven without insurance.
Sudbury Magistrates Court heard on Friday that Dyer had allowed his friend James Leech to drive his car to a football match in Bury St Edmunds. Leech was under the impression that he was insured under his own insurance and had told Dyer this was the case, however he was mistaken.
The CPS took Leech's admissions into account and the charges against Dyer were dropped. Leech was fined £100 with £35 costs.
