Finidi Left Out - Ipswich Town News
Town midfielder Finidi George has been left out of the Nigeria squad playing Scotland in a friendly on April 17th. Former captain Sunday Oliseh is also not in manager Adegboye Onigbinde's squad.
Finidi, Oliseh's vice-captain, and the former skipper are victims of the new regime which has sought to introduce new blood and has left a number of high profile players on the sidelines.
The poor showing at the African Nations' Cup in Mali has been cited as the main reason, although politics, specifically related to a cash row during the tournament, does appear to play a major role in the recent omissions of both Finidi and Oliseh.
Last week former Nigeria captain Segun Odegbami called for the recall of Finidi.
