Holland Embarrassed - Ipswich Town News

Town skipper Matt Holland says that Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Bolton was the most embarrassing of his career. The Blues' captain added that Town must now get at least two wins to stay in the Premiership.

Holland said: "This defeat has really knocked the stuffing out of us, but we certainly won't be throwing in the towel.

"It was an uphill struggle from the very first minute. The game was all over by half-time, and we were just playing for pride in the second half. We couldn't have had a worse start, and we just got in a rut that we couldn't get out of.

"I think I can honestly say that this was the most embarrassing defeat of my career, not the worst performance, but the most embarrassing. It's not as if we were playing Manchester United!

"It was a must-win game for us, and we were not good enough. You can say that Bolton had four shots and scored four goals, but the table does not lie."

Despite the defeat on Saturday Holland feels his side still have what it takes to stay up: "We need to win at least two of our final four matches, and there's no reason why we can't do that. However, we also have to rely on other teams, which is not the ideal situation.

"We have some very tough fixtures ahead, but we must take some heart from winning at Liverpool last season. I just feel very sorry for the supporters."
