Samuelsen Linked With Half-Season Loan - Ipswich Town News

Norwegian sources are linking West Ham midfielder Martin Samuelsen with a loan move to the Blues until January with the possibility of an extension to the end of the season.

TWTD revealed the Blues’ interest in the 19-year-old Norwegian international yesterday with Town boss Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor subsequently making the trip to watch the Hammers U23s beat Newcastle 3-1 at Dagenham and Redbridge’s Victoria Road.

According to Tore Søyland of Norwegian TV channel Viasat Sport, Samuelsen is set to be loaned to the Blues initially on a half-season loan but with the potential for the switch to be extended to the end of the campaign.

Samuelsen played youth football with hometown club Vard Haugesund before being recruited by Manchester City as a 15-year-old.

After three years with City the 6ft 2½in tall winger or attacking central midfielder moved on to West Ham in June 2015.

Mye tyder pÃ¥ at Martin Samuelsen lÃ¥nes ut fra WHU til Ipswich. I første omgang frem til nyttå, men med muligheter for forlengelse.– Tore Søyland (@ViasatTore) August 23, 2016
