Town Confirm Williams Back for Fourth Spell - Ipswich Town News
Town have confirmed that Crystal Palace's Jonny Williams has rejoined the club on a season-long loan, his fourth stint at Portman Road.
Williams, 22, initially joined the Blues in February 2014 and became a big fans' favourite during the remainder of that season.
The Pembury-born midfielder, who is contracted to Palace until 2018, returned in the following September but had his spell curtailed by a thigh injury suffered in the Watford game in the November.
He came back to Town for a third spell late in that season but made only two sub appearances before suffering a recurrence of the problem in an U21s game.
Williams, who played for Wales at the European Championships in the summer, spent time on loan at Nottingham Forest and with the MK Dons last season.
He suffered an ankle injury in pre-season but is expected to be fit to play in October.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
