Andre Dozzell netted a late consolation for the Town U23s as they were beaten 3-1 by Barnsley at Oakwell this afternoon.
The home side were two goals in front at the break via Omari Patrick and Jake Charles before Jacob Brown added a third on 83, two minutes prior to Dozzell's goal for the Blues.
Town included trialist right-back Alex McQueen in their side, while Giles Coke was playing his first game since undergoing knee surgery at the end of last season.
