McGoldrick in U23s at Colchester - Ipswich Town News
Striker David McGoldrick will make his return from injury when Town’s U23s face Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium this evening (KO 7pm).
The 28-year-old has been out of action since rupturing ankle ligaments in the EFL Cup defeat to Stevenage at Portman Road in August.
Speaking at the end of last week, manager Mick McCarthy said that if all goes to plan McGoldrick could be in the first-team squad for Saturday’s game at Newcastle.
Also involved against the U’s will be keeper Michael Crowe, who made his Wales U21s debut last week, and midfielder or forward Monty Patterson, who netted his first full international goal for New Zealand.
Admission is on the door at £10 for adults, £7 for over-65s, £5 for under-18s and £3 for under-14s, while under-11s can get in for free.
