Pro Deal for Nydam - Ipswich Town News
Academy midfielder Tristan Nydam turned 17 yesterday, allowing him to put pen to paper on his first professional deal with the club.
TWTD understands that the Zimbabwe-born, Colchester-raised first-year scholar has agreed a two-year contract, the longest deal permitted for a 17-year-old.
Box-to-box midfielder Nydam, who was on standby for the England U17s squad for the European Championships in June, came on as a sub for the first team in the friendly at Cambridge in the summer but is yet to be included in a competitive senior 18.
