Webster Suffers Groin Injury - Ipswich Town News

Town central defender Adam Webster has suffered a groin injury which is expected to sideline him for around three weeks. The 21-year-old has been ruled out of the live Sky game against Nottingham Forest which follows the international break but could make the match against QPR the week after, which is also at Portman Road.

The former Portsmouth man suffered the injury late on the 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday and is seeing a specialist and having an injection in London today.

"It’s a strain to his left groin,” physio Matt Byard told the club site. "We are looking at around three weeks or so [from when he suffered the injury].

"Adam won’t be available for Forest but we haven’t ruled him out of the QPR game yet. It depends on how his recovery goes.

"He is seeing Dr Noel Pollock, who worked with the GB team at the Rio Olympics, today and we will take it from there.”

With Tommy Smith continuing his recovery after back surgery - the New Zealand international is due back in early December - skipper Luke Chambers, a former Forest captain, looks set to move to the centre of the defence against his old club with Josh Emmanuel returning at right-back.
