Venus Probably Out - Ipswich Town News

Town centre-half Mark Venus is almost certainly out of Sunday's derby at Portman Road. The ex-Wolves man has been missing for a couple of months, but has been on the way back and looked set to play for the reserves tonight against Brighton. Now he has a calf injury which may be OK by the weekend, but it is unlikely he will be considered whilst still so short of match practice. Wayne Brown is set to continue. Also still being treated is Marcus Stewart who was missing at Wolves with a groin starin. It is expected that he will start against Norwich. Other injury victims are gradually returning. Titus Bramble and Stuart Niven both play their first games since recovering from injury tonight in the reserve fixture at Brighton (at Worthing KO 7pm). Bramble injured his knee whilst on loan at Colchester while Niven has had his season decimated by a cruciate knee operation. He will now hope he does enough before the end of the season to earn a new contract. Free transfer man Chris Keeble is also in the squad and is still interesting Colchester. He played for their reserves earlier in the week and scored. He will look to impress once again this evening. Town's other to be released player Adam Tanner is missing tonight with a hamstring problem. Full squad: Branagan, Pullen, Croft, J MIller, Bramble, Maurel, Holster, Niven, Axeldal, Friars, Inglis, Logan, Moffat, Keeble, Snowdon.
