Knudsen Added to Denmark Squad - Ipswich Town News

Town left-back Jonas Knudsen has been added to the Denmark squad for their World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan in Copenhagen this evening and Tuesday’s friendly against the Czech Republic in Mladá Boleslav.

Knudsen trained with the Town squad on Thursday morning before receiving the call and flying out to Denmark last night.

The 24-year-old had been included in a provisional squad for the two games but was initially omitted from the final party by manager Ã…ge Hareide, a one-time Norwich City player.

The former Esbjerg fB full-back has won two caps for Denmark in addition to having played at U18, U19, U20 and U21 levels, but hasn’t played for his country since joining the Blues in the summer of 2015.

Speaking at the end of last year, Knudsen said he was hoping to catch the eye of the then-recently appointed Hareide and establish himself in the Danish side.

He was subsequently named in the squad for the Kirin Cup in Japan in the summer but was forced to pull out due to injury.
