Blues Reportedly Eyeing Portsmouth Striker - Ipswich Town News
Town are one of a number of clubs reportedly keeping an eye on Portsmouth striker Conor Chaplin.
According to The Sun, Bournemouth are keen on making a January move for the 19-year-old Worthing-born frontman, while the Blues, Fulham and QPR have sent representatives to watch the 5ft 6in tall Pompey academy product.
Chaplin, who scored against Town in last season’s FA Cup tie at Portman Road after coming on as a sub, has netted five times this term.
Town scouts were regulars at Fratton Park last season to keep tabs on Matt Clarke, who was on loan with Portsmouth before joining them in the summer, and Adam Webster, who signed for the Blues in the same deal.
