Town Linked With Loan Move for Fulham Striker - Ipswich Town News

Town are reportedly keen to sign Fulham striker Cauley Woodrow on a six-month loan.

According to The Sun, former England U17, U20 and U21 international Woodrow is top of the Blues’ January wish-list and will available on a short-term deal.

The 22-year-old is out of favour at Craven Cottage with his last appearance having come in the EFL Cup defeat to Bristol City in September, while he has made only one Championship start this season.

The 6ft ½in tall striker played youth football with Spurs, Buckhurst Hill and Luton - with whom he made his first three senior appearances as a sub in the FA Trophy - before joining the then-Premier League Whites in March 2011 for a fee which was set to hit seven figures after top-ups.

Having spent time out on loan with Southend in League Two, where he made 10 starts and 12 sub appearances, scoring four times, Hemel Hempstead-born Woodrow made his Premier League debut for Fulham in a 3-1 defeat at Cardiff in March 2014.

Woodrow, who is contracted to Fulham until June 2018 with the club having an option for a further season, has made 28 starts and 37 sub appearances for the Whites, scoring 12 goals.

A striker to replace Daryl Murphy, who departed for Newcastle towards the end of the summer transfer window, is the Blues' top priority during January.

Meanwhile, Portsmouth sources have confirmed that the deal which saw Adam Webster join the Blues from Pompey in the summer included a clause which will see the League Two club receive 20 per cent of the Blues' profit if the centre-half is sold.

Webster, who was signed for a fee of £700,000 plus Matt Clarke, has been linked with a number of Premier League sides in recent weeks, including Sunderland and Everton, but Town are unlikely to sell during the January window.
