Bishop Plays the Full 90 Minutes But U23s Fall to Heavy Defeat at Charlton - Ipswich Town News
Teddy Bishop played the full 90 minutes but Town’s U23s fell to a 4-0 defeat at Charlton this afternoon.
The 20-year-old was making his second U23s appearance since returning from an ankle ligament injury.
Speaking about the midfielder at lunchtime, manager Mick McCarthy said: "He needs a game he’s only had 60 minutes in the last eight weeks. If he gets through 90 minutes today he’ll be a lot better off for Saturday [when Reading visit Portman Road].”
Mikhail Kennedy netted a second-half hat-trick for the Addicks after Josh Umerah had given them a 1-0 lead in a game played at Greenwich Borough.
U23s: Crowe, Woolfenden, Fowler, C Smith, Webber, McDonnell, Nydam (Folami 72), Blanchfield, Bishop, Morris (McKendry 82), Patterson. Unused: Wright, Ndaba, Robinson.
