Staying Chambers Starts for Blues - Ipswich Town News

Town skipper Luke Chambers starts for the Blues in tonight’s game against Derby County as boss Mick McCarthy makes three changes from the team which drew 1-1 at Preston on Saturday.

Paul Digby, Jordan Spence and Kevin Bru come into the side for Josh Emmanuel and Grant Ward, who both drop to the bench, and Toumani Diagouraga, who misses out.

The Blues look set to line up in a 3-5-2 system with Chambers, whose proposed move to his old club Nottingham Forest is off, as first reported by TWTD earlier this evening, in the centre of the defence between Christophe Berra and Paul Digby. Jordan Spence and Jonas Knudsen will be the wing-backs.

In central midfield Cole Skuse will partnered by Kevin Bru with Tom Lawrence ahead of them and Freddie Sears and Brett Pitman up front.

Derby are without Blues nemesis David Nugent (knee), midfielder Will Hughes (hamstring) and winger Jonny Russell (knee). Ex-Blues striker Darren Bent starts.

Town: Bialkowski, Spence, Digby, Chambers (c), Berra, Knudsen, Skuse, Bru, Lawrence, Sears, Pitman. Subs: Gerken, McGoldrick, Ward, Douglas, Dozzell, Moore, Emmanuel.

Derby: Carson, Baird, Keogh (c), Pearce, Olsson; Johnson, Bryson, Butterfield; Ince, Camara, Bent. Subs: Mitchell, Christie, Shackell, Anya, de Sart, Blackman, Vydra. Referee: Andrew Madley (West Yorkshire).
