Steven Taylor and Emyr Huws are both handed their debuts as Mick McCarthy makes five changes as the Blues take on third-placed Reading at Portman Road.
Josh Emmanuel, Toumani Diagouraga and David McGoldrick also return to the XI with the Blues again set to line up in a 3-5-2 system.
The Royals make two changes from the team which beat Birmingham 1-0 in midweek with debutant Jordon Mutch and Yann Kermorgant, who had been out with a calf injury, coming into the team for Roy Beerens and George Evans.
