Town will be fined £5,000 by the FA for having six players booked during last night’s 1-1 draw at Brighton.
Tom Lawrence - who now misses the Leeds home game and the East Anglian derby at Carrow Road having reached 10 yellow cards for the season - skipper Luke Chambers, Myles Kenlock, Josh Emmanuel, David McGoldrick and Emyr Huws were all cautioned by referee Roger East, who was in a somewhat card happy mood when it came to Town players.
Speaking after the match manager Mick McCarthy refused to be drawn on the number of bookings: "I’ve nothing nice to say so I’m not going to say it at all because I’ll get into trouble.”
The FA’s Disciplinary Procedures 2016/17 states: "Any club that has six or more individual players cautioned or dismissed from the field of play in the same match will be offered a standard punishment according to the following table on the first occasion that this happens during the season: Football League Championship £5,000.
"For each successive occasion that this happens in the same season, the standard punishment offered will be a fine that is double and then treble etc the above amount."
