Historic Autograph Sheets Up for Auction - Ipswich Town News

Historic Ipswich Town autograph sheets, including a signed page from the Blues’ first season in the Football League, the 1938/39 campaign, will go under the hammer at Lockdales in Martlesham on March 18th.

The sheet is signed by manager Scott Duncan, trainer Bob Thomson, together with 13 players, including skipper Jimmy McLuckie, Billy Dale and Fred Chadwick. There is a £40 to £50 catalogue guide price.

Another Town autograph lot is a 1946 squad album page with the signatures of both first team and reserves. That has a catalogue guide price of £25 to £30.

Auction manager James Sadler said: "This is the biggest football section that we’ve had at an auction for some time. There has been great interest already from all over the country and abroad.”

Also among the lots are a number of early post-war programmes including one from the 1946 Town versus Crystal Palace Hospital Cup game. This has a £25 to £30 guide price.

The programme from the 1945 Division Three South Ipswich-Norwich derby is in a similar guide bracket.
