Bramble Rumours Again - Ipswich Town News
Newcastle and Arsenal are again being linked with a summer move for Town central defender Titus Bramble. Both clubs have been reported to be interested in the Ipswich-born player several times this season and will have representatives at tonight's Manchester United game.
Both Arsene Wenger and Bobby Robson are claimed to have already held talks with Bramble's agent Jonathan Barnett, the man who also represents Richard Wright, Kieron Dyer and Matt Holland.
Bramble, on a long contract at Town, has been valued at anything from £3 million to £10 million in the numerous stories which have appeared in the press this season. This latest report suggests bidding may start at £8 million.
Selling Bramble for anything approaching that figure would go a long way to making up the shortfall in income the Blues would face should they start next season in Division One. David Sheepshanks has said Town would lose £12 million if they were relegated.
Bramble has been in-and-out of the Town side all season and will have an operation on an achilles problem in the summer.
