Thommo Wins Promotion - Ipswich Town News
Former Town left-back Neil Thompson has helped get Boston United into the Football League for the first time. The Pilgrims beat already relegated Hayes 2-0 on Sunday afternoon to clinch the Nationwide Conference title ahead of Town's FA Cup opponents Dagenham and Redbridge.
Thompson joined Boston as part of the coaching staff after leaving Scarborough in October. However, an injury crisis meant he ended up playing five games for the Lincolnshire side.
Also in action on Sunday was on-loan Gary Croft. The full-back was in the Cardiff side which takes a 2-1 lead into the home leg of their play-off with Stoke City.
