McCarthy Confirms Douglas Will Move on in Summer - Ipswich Town News
Town boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed that midfielder Jonny Douglas will move on at the end of the season when his contract is up.
The 35-year-old joined the Blues two summers ago from Brentford on a free transfer and has made 51 starts and 10 sub appearances, scoring three goals.
"Dougie, when his contract comes to an end, there’s no doubt he’ll be leaving,” McCarthy said. "But he’s been a fabulous player for us, a great servant.
"And he’s been unlucky this year. I still go back to the goal he scored against Norwich and it was disallowed.”
McCarthy has previously confirmed that striker Leon Best wouldn’t play for him again and will leave the club in the summer as will midfielder Giles Coke, who has spent the whole campaign on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Blackburn Rovers 1-0 Ipswich Town - Match AbandonedTown look set to face a return trip to Blackburn Rovers later in the season after this afternoon’s game was abandoned after 80 minutes due to a waterlogged pitch with the home side 1-0 up and with the Blues down to 10 men. Jacob Greaves was shown a straight red card four minutes after the break for hauling down Yuki Ohashi, then Rovers skipper Todd Cantwell netted a penalty on 59, but the heavy rain had made the game increasingly farcical the longer it progressed and in the 80th minute referee Stephen Martin took the players off and then 25 minutes later abandoned it entirely.
