Bartosz Bialkowski is in no rush to leave Town despite the fact that he was targeted by a number of unnamed clubs during the January transfer window.
Given his consistency between the sticks it would be no surprise if more suitors came on the scene during the summer — but he insists he would be more than happy to remain at Portman Road for the foreseeable future.
The 29-year-old Pole, who is contracted until the summer of 2018 with Town having an option for a further season, said: "I am sure clubs are watching every player in this league. I’m just trying to do the best job I can.
"I was aware of a couple of clubs being interested in me in January but it wasn’t up to me. It was up to Ipswich and whether or not they wanted to sell me.
"I am so happy here and absolutely loving this place. My family also love it here so there is no need for a change.
"You never know what’s going to happen in the future but I love playing for Ipswich and living here. I won’t say who the clubs were and I don’t really want to say too much about it. I’m happy here, so end of story.
"I am absolutely 100 per cent sure that my family would say the same thing about Ipswich.
"My daughter, Nadia, is getting older. She is seven and a half years old now and understands football. The other day, she asked me about our future.
"She asked where we were going to live in a couple of years’ time and I told her we might go and live somewhere else. She started crying so that tells you how much we love this place. We are really settled here.
"The first thing I need to think about is my family, my wife and kids. In January the club did not want to sell me and if the same thing happens in the summer I’m fine with that.
"If the club tell me they want to keep me that’s absolutely fine. Then again, we all have dreams and we all want to play at as high a level as possible. But I still have a contract here and I’m happy to stay.”
Bialkowski, who was interesting sides in China a year ago, also dismissed the idea that uncertainty about their futures could affect some of his colleagues over the final eight games of the season — or that manager Mick McCarthy admitting he will be considering his own future in the summer will have an adverse effect.
He added: "That’s football and in this game there are always question marks about your future because nobody knows what is going to happen. We are professional footballers and we know what it is all about.”
Meanwhile, the reigning Player of the Year believes on-loan Leicester man Tom Lawrence would be a worthy successor when the supporters cast their votes in the annual poll. "Tom has been fantastic this season,” said Bialkowski. "He’s our top scorer and he’s been very good.”
